Sustainability Manager to CapMan Real Estate, Helsinki or Stockholm (fixed-term)
This role is well suited for a real estate sustainability generalist with a commercial mindset. It combines big-picture thinking with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.

This is an opportunity for you to join CapMan in the role as a fixed-term Sustainability Manager as part of the Real Estate team. This role can be structured either as a fixed-term employment contract or as an interim/contractor assignment, depending on the candidate’s preference and situation.
About the team
In CapMan Real Estate we execute both value add and stable income-focused investment strategies across all major property sectors in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. Our active value-add funds seek to acquire transitional properties in the most liquid Nordic markets where an asset can be enhanced by active rental and cost management, investments in redevelopment, change of use, or repositioning. Our funds and mandates targeting stable income focuses on well-located, high-quality investments that generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for our investors across market cycles. Our Nordic Real Estate operations include approximately 80 committed real estate investment professionals. With a strong focus on sustainability, innovation and value creation, we have established a solid reputation for delivering exceptional results and are dedicated to driving superior returns for our investors.
About the role
In this role you will be
Leading and supporting the development and implementation of CapMan Real Estate’s sustainability strategy and roadmaps
Integrating sustainability considerations into investment screening, due diligence, Investment Committee materials, and asset management processes
Driving and monitoring practical sustainability initiatives and progress across portfolios (e.g. energy efficiency, decarbonisation, EU Taxonomy, green building certifications, nature, human rights, and data quality)
Owning and taking care of annual and quarterly sustainability reporting for CapMan Real Estate, funds and mandates, including development work related to frameworks such as GRESB, SFDR, CRREM, EU Taxonomy, SBTi, and climate and nature-related disclosures
Collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners, including property managers, consultants, service providers, and industry networks
Representing CapMan Real Estate in internal and external forums, including presenting sustainability topics to investors, industry groups, and other stakeholders. you will also contribute to investor materials and sustainability-related communication
This role is Nordic, but is based either in our Helsinki or Stockholm office and we assume you are currently living in one of the two cities.
In this role, you will work across countries and functions - real estate management, fund management, investment management, asset management, wider sustainability team, legal and compliance, communications – gaining a broad view of how sustainability is integrated into real estate investment and asset management.

Who you are
We believe that you:
Have 5-12 years (or more) of experience in sustainability/ESG within real estate, finance, investments, engineering, consulting, or a related field
Have a strong understanding of key sustainability topics in real estate (e.g. energy, whole-building GHG emissions, building sustainability certifications, EU Taxonomy, climate risks, safety, accessibility, well-being, and other building-level topics)
Have a track record of taking care of sustainability reporting and integrating sustainability into investment and asset management (e.g. GRESB, EU Taxonomy, LCA, SBTi, CRREM, BREEAM, WELL, PRI or similar), but do not need to master everything
Can link sustainability to value creation and risk management
Comfortable and motivated working with data and have strong Excel skills, with the ability to translate analysis into clear, actionable insights
How you work:
Strategic, hands-on operator across portfolios and geographies
Can prepare clear and concise presentations (e.g. in PowerPoint) and communicate complex topics in an accessible way
Are proactive, analytical, structured, and able to lead cross-functional initiatives
Enjoy collaborating with different stakeholders and working across teams
Are willing to take ownership of your work
Have proficiency in written and spoken English and fluency in either Finnish or Swedish, and are open to occasional travel.

This is a fixed-term, full-time position replacing the existing Sustainability Director during her study leave, starting on 1 August 2026 until 31 August 2027.
